Apprentice Butchers visit the farm

Ricardo Ferreira and Ben McAvoy are apprentice butchers with our friendly team at Maida Vale shop in London. Today they came to see the farm, and learn the story behind the shop.

Ian Salmon, farm manager, showed them the animals. Touring the different livestock enterprises, he explained to Ricardo and Ben about our animal welfare ethics and the organic systems.

Ron Eyton and Colin Nicholl showed them the Processing Unit. Here they saw where we slaughter the chickens, how we handle the process and the portioning, and of course the red meat cutting room. Here we hang the carcasses, create bespoke cuts for customers, and despatch direct to the shop as well as direct to home delivery and wholesale customers.
