FMD 2007 – how does the farmer feel?

by

Compassion in World Farming (CIWF ) made an excellent video about how a farmer feels when there is an outbreak of FMD in their area.

Grant Roffey, who farms at Lee House Organic Farm not far from the outbreak’s surveillance zone, describes what it’s like to suddenly be told by Defra – days after the disease was recorded – that Foot and Mouth Disease has appeared not far away. He tells us how difficult it is for the fate of his animals and his livelihood to be in the hands of others. For the full story by CIWF, click here.
